Chapter 1
The book starts off by Percy Jackson introducing us to the characters from the past book and this takes up a good chunk of the first chapter and after introductions then it goes straight into the present day. The present day for Percy is the last day of school, but he remembers the nightmare that he had the night before and it was about his best friend that is a satyr and in his nightmare Grover (that is the name of his best friend) says that he has to get away and that he has to warn them. For me I don’t know who Grover is talking about and why he was trying to warn him about.
Chapter 2
The second chapter is about how Percy got to now Tyson and how they first got together. They continue this for a good chunk of the chapter and how Tyson was adopted by the school and how he was actually homeless as Percy Jackson recalls. Percy carried on by telling us about Tyson and how the other kids at the school picked on Tyson. Then Percy had to defend Tyson but the new that there were more of them than his usual group and then Tyson every time he saw Percy said see you in P. E, and he did something to make Percy angry too. When they got to the gym they said they were going to do dodge ball and I thought that they will throw the dodge ball so hard at Percy would go flying. That did not happen to them what actually happen was Tyson becomes a hero and saves Percy’s life and his own. Tyson saves Percy by catching a firing ball coming right at him but and the person throwing the balls are the bullies friends that came about two days ago. The “friends” of the bully started to grow and grow because they weren’t children they were monsters here to get rid of Percy but Tyson puts himself in front Percy and took the blows for the giants. To make it even worse the dodge ball were made out of bronze dodge-ball. Tyson was a surprise because he saved everyone from the monsters and got rid of the monsters at the same time this shocked me because I thought that Tyson would be holding Percy and whoever he teamed up with him down. Tyson actually helped Percy out big time because in the gym Percy did not have riptide on him and riptide is where a lot of his power comes from. Then out of nowhere Annabeth just comes out and says that she is the one they want but annabeth put on her invisible cap and detracted the monsters enough for Tyson to destroy the monster but at the end of the day Percy was blamed for the destruction of the gym. This happens a lot because mortals can’t see what is actually happening so the mortals just blame it on Percy because of his past with things like this, so he is kicked out of another school.

In this blog I will be talking about chapter 3 in the book Percy Jackson and the sea of monsters. Chapter three starts off by first telling us that they are getting into a taxi, and then they worried about the taxi driver, but they are fine but the cops were after them because of what happened to the school “that was Percy’s fault”. Percy was also worried because Tyson was a bit of a softy and did not do well with criticism even though Tyson could eat the person that insults him. But they decided that they weren’t going to take a taxi because it would be to easy for anyone to catch them in the taxi. So they went into an alleyway I don’t know why they are in an alleyway that is so close to the school that you could see the police that want you but they can’t see you for some reason. As they are trying to escape Annabeth told them to stop and reached into her bag and I thought that she was going to bring out something really useful to their situation but another thing came out a single gold coin a drachma to be exact. Then Annabeth yelled out in ancient Greece that somehow Percy understands for some reasons even though he had no prior knowledge to ancient Greece and the language before known. But Percy translated it into “stop chariot of damnation” then she through the coin in the air and as it landed it disappeared into the ground then they had to what awhile but it is not like the police could come over there and arrest them. The coin takes its time then out of nowhere the ground starts to bubble red then because everyone knows that when you see red bubbles coming from the ground after you through a coin a car will appear everyone knows that. Well that is what happen to them but you can never get a good taxi driver as soon as she came out of the ground she had an attitude towards Tyson and this is just a prediction but I think that Tyson will be of a group that the half bloods don’t like or not get along with. This is because the taxi driver pointed at Tyson and said that she didn’t want to take his kind in to her taxi which I think is racism because she is excluding one race from what she is paid to do. The taxi drive to the camp was very hectic as the driver he was driving them to camp was blind and the drive was turn gross because Tyson was about to barf. Then the taxi driver fought over the money but Percy and his friends just left because they did not want to get in the middle of their fight, so they just left. But before they left Percy wanted to know what the driver was talking about so when there one eye fell out Percy asked them what they were talking about for, so he was basically blackmailing them for what he wants. And he finally got what he wanted and that is it nothing else really happens after this but the next chapter is even better than this one because they are in the camp and this is when Percy starts his adventure.

In this blog I am going to be talking about chapter 4 of the book Percy Jackson and the sea of monsters so in the start of the chapter they do not waste any time with introductions, and they just tell us the camp is being attacked by metal bulls. But the worst part of all is that the bulls aren’t supposed to do anything or even come close to the camp because the daughter of Zeus was turned into a tree and that protects the border but somehow the tree did not work and the bulls got through. So when Percy saw his enemy getting attacked while her so called team-mates go and start running in circles but Percy was conflicted because she was his enemy and her father did not like Percy one bit so Percy really did not want to help, but he did. Then Annabeth told Percy that they needed something to fight the bulls, or they would fry s I thought that they would have put Tyson in front of Percy and went in to help with the battle but for reason Percy didn’t want to send Tyson in to the battle. This was because Percy said that Tyson got lucky and that he is just a mortal, but I am pretty sure when you catch bronze dodge balls that are on fire and coming at you really fast and you catch the ball you aren’t mortal but what do I know. So then Percy ignoring Annabeth goes into battle to help out Clorece in her fight with the metal bulls, but she had her cabin mates there to help her, but they were wetting their pants and not following orders from her, so she thought fighting the metallic bull on her own was a good idea it wasn’t. Then Annabeth came into battle with Percy and Annabeth was trying to be a leader but trying to lead these guys if like going up against one of the Greek gods because that is never going to happen. So Percy took matters into his own hands by trying to take out one of the metallic bulls that were charging at camp but Percy didn’t practice with riptide that much so it felt different in his hand, so he was not so effective in the battle. Annabeth screamed for Tyson to save Percy from the bull that was going to make him a pancake but Tyson couldn’t get through but I thought that mortals can come through, but they couldn’t see the camp but Tyson could so that raised some questions in my head about Tyson. But Annabeth grants him access to the camp, and he saved Percy even though the bull blasted him with fire then he becomes the hulk and starts to bash the bulls face in then he turns to Percy and asked if he is ok then Percy says yeah but shouldn’t Percy ask Tyson if he is ok because I don’t think that fire and flesh go together but Tyson was ok. The rest of the chapter is just story arc and filler in my opinion nothing in the rest of the chapter is important, so I am going to leave it hears.

The start of chapter five is just recapping the camp if people don’t remember from the first book but every one ignored Percy like he wasn’t there then because Tyson is here now so Percy tends to him as he is new to camp half-blood. Plus Tyson is asking a lot of questions about the camp saying like what is that even though he should know what a toilet is but I think that he is just excited to be there so that is why he is asking a bunch of questions. Then Percy said that he will be staying in the cabin he stayed in when he was not claimed by his father. If you don’t know that the Greek gods claim their children if they want to, so they might have more than you think, but they might not claim the child because of the rules set in place. The rules are that the three main guys who are Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon can’t have babies with mortals because their babies will become to strong and a war might break out because of it. That is what he explains and because the big three (that is what they call the three main Greek gods) had children with mortals bad things happen when they get mad and one of the main things that happened because of it was World War 2. Then all three go to meet Kiron and I don’t know why they brought Tyson with them, but then they see him packing when I heard this part I was shocked because I didn’t know why he was leaving or it might be a misunderstanding. But the next thing he said was devastating because he just said that he was fired I really liked Kiron because he was hard on Percy, and he was very humorous but now he has to go. Some Greek gods don’t trust Kiron because they think that he poisoned Thalia’s tree and killed the tree that protected the camp from monsters like the metal bulls. But before we go more into chapter 5 Thalia’s tree was made out of Zeus’s daughters soul because she was dying he wanted to keep something to remember her by so Zeus made a tree so now I think you would know why they are so mad at Kiron. There is a twist because Kiron did not poison Thalia’s tree someone else did but Kiron was blamed for it so that is why he got fired and that is why he is not trusted by some Greek gods. This is all just made more humorous with Tyson in the background just saying pony and trying to get closer to Kiron to pet him so that makes this situation a little better, but I am still salty about what happened to Kiron. Percy also thinks that Craytos is the one that poisoned the tree, and he made Luke do it because Luke betrayed them to help put Craytos back together. But there is semi good news in this chapter because the tree is not dead yet but it could only stay alive for only a few weeks but there is a cure to the poison there is a problem with that solution and that is being lost a long time ago. Percy said that he might be able to get it if Kiron is willing to tell him but Kiron refuses saying that he told Percy’s mom that he will not put Percy into danger, so he just tells him to train hard because in a couple of weeks the camp might be under an attack. This was a really dumb part because Kiron knows that without the magic that was lost the camp will ultimately die or be overcome by monsters and Percy is the son of one of the big three meaning that he is the most powerful half-blood. Plus Percy has main character protection so if anyone was going to get that magic it was going to be Percy. Then Annabeth brings up something important that the gods made Kiron immortal because he was needed in the camp, so he is going to age as normal meaning if they don’t fix this fast then Kiron might pass away from old age. So that is the end of when they were talking to Kiron and Kiron leaves the camp and of course Tyson starts to cry because the “pony” left. So it is the next day, and they can finally meet their new camp director but first the other camps come in and Percy introduces the leaders to us the readers then they all get settled down, and they finally meet the new camp director. But before that we get to meet Mr. D and even just looking at him and how he treats the campers I don’t like him he just seems like a bad person in this book because he has one of the satyr peeling grapes and handing it to him so that he could eat them. Then Percy describes the new camp director as he looked like a prisoner and did not look like a person that you would think has a camp director for kids plus he already doesn’t like Percy. Then Mr. D said that the new camp director keep an eye on him as he is a troublemaker, and then he magically makes a newspaper appear and on the front can you guess what was on the first page. It was Percy and what happened earlier in the book when he “set the school on fire”. That was half of chapter five but this is getting to long, so I am going to split this into two.
5# blog
I am going to give a recap of the rest of chapter five in a nutshell it was like listening to filler because they just introduced the new camp director and then Poseidon also Percy’s dad claimed Tyson as his son so that means that they are brother, and they are going back to their cabin. That is where chapter 6 starts there are some more little important parts in chapter five, but they are made more important in chapter six so that is where this blog is going to start on. But at the start of the chapter he explains the bad parts about being related to Tyson and I don’t know why Percy is going so hard on Tyson, but he says that he is not as popular now because everyone knows that his brother is Tyson. I guess that can be a handful but that is no way to treat your brother. So then Percy and Annabeth took their mind off things and put their focus on a chariot race but I wouldn’t focus on a chariot race when the border of the camp is dying from the poison. Then they argue with each other than they scrap their chariot idea because of that argument and Percy decides to build the chariot with Tyson instead because that was the topic of the argument and Percy wanted to prove Annabeth wrong. But then you want to guess what happens for the next 4 minutes nothing just some time goes by, and he explains what he does in the days. But then he tells us about his dreams about Grover, and he wants to tell Annabeth, but he felt weird then the chariot race will be tomorrow, and then they get to the race. Also know he is telling us about another dream but it was really weird even for this book and it seemed like Grover was talking to Percy from his dream but I thought there is a lot of magic, but I am pretty sure they can’t communicate by their dreams. And because Grover can transmit through dreams he tells us the weirdest part of this sequence of events he is going to get married because a grown cyclops thinks that Grover is a lady cyclops. But the location is Ironically in the sea of monster the same name of the book what a coincidence that the place Graver is held hostage is the same place as in the title. But I digress they get to the chariot race and it starts off pretty good and it good everyone is having a good time but out of nowhere they get attacked by pigeons? Yes pigeon with metal beaks and are trying to kill them with their beaks but I think it is going to be hard to kill them with their chariots moving. Then after they started Percy explains how a lot of the chariots broke or how they battled with the other chariots except the two in front Percy and Annabeth, but they are quickly cut off the race when the pigeons started to attack them. But because the beaks of the pigeons were metal they ripped through some campers flesh, and they were about to do it to Percy, but they stopped the race and tried to help get rid of the pigeons. They can only get rid of the pigeons with a lot of really bad noise, so they are getting something from Kirons collection, and then they get his boom box and some music, and they started to play it and then all the pigeons wanted to die because of the music then the pigeons flew upward so that they can get away from the music, and they did but the archers have something else to say about that. After that they recap the damage from the fight but I would say that is pretty good for a surprise aerial attack but the dumb camp director awards Chloris with the gold even though she did nothing it is whatever because the camp is safe in my opinion. And that is it for chapter six.

This chapter is chapter 7 of Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters is what I am going to share my opinion about. The first thing the chapter talks about is how Clorice won and how the camp director blames Percy and Annabeth for it by the way if you don’t know Percy and Annabeth did not cause it they saved the camp, but they are punished. They were sent to clean dishes, but they do not use water they are the children of greek gods they use lava. The weirdest part of all of this is how the plates they are cleaning don’t melt from the lava but the story just drifts over this fact and then pushes your attention towards their conversation about Grover. But they find out what could save the camp then they go on to tell us about the item which I don’t care about, so I am going to skip over this part because it doesn’t give anything to the story at hand. But they think is a trap, but they have no choice because if they stay there they die because the tree dies and if they go they can die, so they have to go because they die either way. I think I missed something. Then they have to go to the Bermuda triangle because that is being the sea of monsters are. Do you want to know how they justify it being there because the monsters get you and that is why no one returns from there it is genius because no one can argue otherwise because no one has ever came back from the Bermuda triangle. But there is a twist because they have to get the camp director’s agreement for the quest. But it is going to be hard to do because the camp director hates them and when they did ask he keeps on trying to shut Percy and Annabeth down, but they were prepared. Then they finally get what they want kind of instead of Percy and Annabeth he assigned it to Clorice but that doesn’t even make sense because she is as useful as the banana on the table. But the camp director can not be persuaded then he continues to say a story about himself that is very “important to the story at hand”. Then they go on to do some character developing with Tyson but it is really boring for the reader because this goes on for a long time. Until he goes to the beach? I didn’t even know they had a beach, but then he hears a guy saying “beautiful right” that is kinda weird to say to someone you meet on the beach but in this book it really doesn’t matter. This part is going to seem weird but I promise it is in the book the guy sits next to Percy, and he has to snakes on his phone and Percy tells the guy he tells them to say hello that is not the weirdest part the snakes actually say hello to Percy. But then the guy reveals himself to be Hermes which can give Percy mixed messages because he is the father of Luke, but he is still Hermes, and he has nothing to do with it so Percy could be feeling conflicted right about now. Ok is this like the chapter of life stories because Hermes is talking about that then they finally get back to the story and Hermes says that Percy should go on that quest even though he is not allowed. Hermes also gives Percy gifts to help him on his quest but this seems to be weird because why would Hermes just want to help Percy of all people shouldn’t he help the person actually allowed to go the quest. I digress chapter did not have as much action as some and did have story then all but altogether it was a very good chapter.
